Bring volleyball to the youth in The Gambia!

In February, Felix Lopez and Lisette Hartman are going to The Gambia to do something special: pass on the love for volleyball to the next generation. What once began as a dream for Felix is now becoming reality. Together with the foundation Let’s Keep The Ball Flying, they will train beginner coaches and inspire young people to discover their passion for volleyball.

Why this project?

Felix, an experienced (beach) volleyball coach and physical education teacher, has had a lifelong mission: to pass on his passion for volleyball to young people. Together with Lisette, both passionate (beach) volleyball players, the team is determined to introduce volleyball to young people and aspiring coaches in The Gambia. Through learning playfully, exchanging cultures, and above all, having fun, they want to create sport and connection in the lives of the young people there.

What are we going to do?

For a month, we will be in The Gambia, where we will:

• Train and mentor young aspiring coaches without experience. We will help them take their first steps as volleyball coaches.
• Inspire children and young people to become enthusiastic about volleyball, so that this sport can play a larger role in their lives and in the community.
• Share our passion for sport playfully and with joy while learning about each other's culture.
  
  

Who are we?

• Felix Lopez – Passionate international (beach) volleyball coach at a high level, physical education teacher, and owner of Dolfijn Beachvolleybal.
• Lisette Hartman – Enthusiastic activity organizer with a contagious passion for children, skilled at connecting cultures through sports, volleyball player, and years of experience as a volunteer at her volleyball club.
